New Students at Soran Get Friendly Welcome
At Soran International School, a SABIS® PPP school, grade 3-5 students were given a big welcome by the school’s SABIS Student Life Organization®’s (SLO®) Academic Department and Outreach Department on October 21, 2015.
The prefects organized the meeting in the SLO® office. To start off the meeting, the prefects in the Outreach Department welcomed the new students. Then, they explained what the school administration is, which consists of many parts. After that, they showed the new students the school’s administration offices such as the director’s office and staff room.
The Academic Department prefects explained to the new students the most efficient way to study English, math, and science. The new students asked the Academic Department some questions. This department also supported the new students by scheduling them for peer tutoring and helping them in English, Math, and Science two days per week during lunchtime.
Holding this activity helped the new students settle into their school and develop new friendships. Also, having extra study sessions will help improve their academic level. The prefects were very proud that they could help out the new students in more ways than one, while the new students were appreciative for the additional academic guidance.
