Soran International School Celebrates Kurdish Flag Day
On December 17, 2016, Soran International School, a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan, held a school wide event to celebrate Kurdish Flag Day.
The students started the day by lining up in order of their grade level and singing the national anthem. Afterwards, the students continued to sing the Peshmerga song, “Ay Shahidan.” Some students also recited poetry they had written about Kurdistan. The day ended with students and teachers dancing and rejoicing on this special day.
Celebrating Kurdish Flag Day is an important event that takes place every year at the school. It helps instill a sense of pride in the students and staff as well as reminds them of their culture and history. The teachers and students were very happy on this day and appreciated the effort that went into organizing it. To visit the gallery of the event, please click here.
